They say it more like fo-ti and cut out the r altogether, they have smaller characters to make the sounds that they have no characters for.

of course hes japanese, but thats not how "forty" would be pronounced even with a heavy accent. the most it could be distorted would be fu-o-ru-chi-i. the "er" sound doesnt exist anywhere in there?

I don't know of the second game, but the 1st one was Saint Seiya for the Famicom, Kato and Ken for the PC Engine/Turbografx 16 (aka JJ & Jeff in the US), and Doraemon for the Famicom.
