but the problem with your analogy is that makoto can one shot people and has more stun then any other character in the game. Makoto is has some of the best rushdown tactics in the game, where as dan, just sucks balls. and seans mk version of the qcb+k combos off low forward and close s. hp. Sean is about mix-up and confution, and his basket ball creating a good high-low game. And makoto just beats the piss out of you before you can do anything. You obviously don't know anything about 3rd strike.

Makoto's jumping roundhouse is very close to Dan's. Sean has a multi-hit, non-comboable advancing move (Tornado Kick), as does Dan (Dankukyaku). Both Sean and Makoto's attack forms are unusual, and many of their normal moves have a delay and hit hard, just like Dan's. Most importantly, their strategies are the same as Dan's -- psych out opponents, keep mobile, wait for openings, get in their faces.

Necro's not like Blanka at all despite the electricity moves -- what matters are controls and strategy. Urien is the most Blanka-like SFIII character, also with traces of Sagat and Adon thrown in. Necro's strategies are more like R. Mika and Rolento than Dhalsim or Blanka. Both Sean and Makoto have Dan Hibiki DNA in them. I see Q as being the most original SFIII character -- no other character plays like him, except maybe Anakaris from Darkstalkers.
