I'm not sure about the plane heading to the White house. If those phone calls were real, the oxygen masks didn't deploy. The plane would never have made it anyway. The White house is too large a symbol. The world trade center buildings were poorly constructed and in need of heavy restoration. They were also heavily insured not long before it happened. The cold hard fact is that the U.S. government has absolutely no problem sending people to die. We are expendable and cheap to replace.

The Pentagon was hit by a missile in the area that had been renovated and reinforced. The communications recorders just happened to be in the same area where no Pentagon employees were at the time.
