イチローは結構英語を話せるらしいですよ。でも細かいニュアンスを表現できるほどではないので、間違いを避けるために通訳を使っているのです。
Ichiro can speak simple English.But he said that he cannot express detailed nuances in English. So he have his Japanese translated by interpretation in order not to mistake expression.

Actualy thats how he always speaks. I felt like he was showing another side of himself during the WBC. Sure Koreans misunderstood and took it too serious to the things he said to not only Korea but all the other asian countries as well.
